A bit different Vriska Serket robot arm tutorial
~ NO COMMISSIONS ~

Part 1 - The Glove.
Part 2 - The Colors
[link]

At this half I explain how to sow a glove out of 60 den grey tights. -Again, this is just a messy walkthrough with all the mistakes and everything of how I rolled with this, there's better ways, I bet. Learn from my mistakes, bro! :'D

So, my robot arm ended up a bit more complicated than the original design. I didn't want to just color my arm with few stripes for the cosplay and be done with it. I wanted it to look AWESOME. I took influence from GUNNM and FMA etc. and the fab result surprised even me. : D Since people have been so sweet and curious about this, here's a 2-part tutorial just for you. <3

This method can be used for just any robot arm, not just Vriskas. Or simply just how to make a grey glove for troll cosplay etc, if you don't want to paint your skin.

 PS: I'd LOVE to see your results! <3

Ah hello! I used your tutorial in spring 2012, and in looking for tutorials to use again this year, I ran across it again!

Unfortunately I read your tutorial a few times but then sewed my armsocks over the weekend- while at my cottage, which has no internet connection. I misremembered the part about cutting while the sock is on your hand as sewing while the sock is on your hand. Predictably, the results were not great, and I had to cut the fingers off of my gloves.

But I did (semi)successfully follow your directions on the detailing of the tights! They didn't come out perfectly, but they worked well enough for the weekend I was wearing them. c:

whoaaa sweet cosplay! : D good job!
damn I'm sorry for the fingers, they can be tricky while there's not much fabric to work on.. mine were pretty tight fit also. you always could have sewn new ones from the scrap fabric but yeah.. all in the past.
Thanks for showing me your results! purrrr <3

I wish I could draw as good as you when it comes to this. I was trying to make an automail arm (from fullmetal alchemist) and it didn't come out like this :I
But great tutorial, even if you're just making arm socks(which is a feat I must do from time to time)

so my sister is going as paninya for a convention and is planning on using this tutorial for the arm. what can she do if the leggings she has don't have feet at the bottom? they were the only thing she found in the color

mmm, does she have 2 pair of leggins reserved for this? I suggest using one pair for the hand and other pair for the leg, the mid part can work as a harness and other can be worn like pants and there's extra fabric to sow the feet part and hide the seam with coloring

nevermind, she wasn't able to do it but thank you though
